We impart students of medicine and dentistry with the most important principles and professional expertise in the field of drug therapy. Students receive the pharmacological basis for their further education in clinics and their later professional practice from teachers who have completed their education in medicine, biology or chemistry.
We develop our curriculum in close contact with the clinical disciplines. Since we are a division with a strong research emphasis, we can also integrate our research expertise directly into teaching. To correctly apply medical knowledge and advance it later on in one's career, an understanding of how it develops is necessary. We link our curriculum to current scientific studies. We also teach our students how to conduct research: We advise a large number of diploma theses and are heavily involved in doctoral studies. When our doctoral students finish their education, they are capable of independently conducting basic medical research in line with high international standards, which is verified by their top publications.
